PPRC Fully Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Course
The course is held at The Physiotherapy & Pilates Rehabilitation Centre in Clevedon and covers all aspects of Pilates training from beginners mat work to advanced equipment work (Reformer, Trapeze, Ladder Barrel and Combo Chair) including all conditions and special populations.

Who is a world renowned Instructor and brought Pilates over to this country in the 1970’s, and also incorporates the Active IQ level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Mat work which gives you entry onto the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP’s).
The course usually takes between six months to one year with one day per week of structured training and anatomy lectures. Trainees are also expected to put in as many extra hours as possible in attendance at either the Clevedon or Taunton studio, initially to practise and eventually to assist.
We usually run the course on term times which means we will break for a couple of weeks at Christmas, Easter and slightly longer for summer plus some half term holidays.
Students will be given a PPRC Exercise Repertoire Booklet for each piece of equipment, remedial mat work and Joseph Pilates 34 original exercises. These will be used for reference and notes.
The training will include knowledge of:
- Core stability
- Postural alignment
- Flexibility and stretching
- Adaptation & modification of certain exercises for various injuries and conditions.
The Equipment training will cover exercise repertoires on each machine listed below, together with care, maintenance and health and safety issues.
- Trapeze table
- Combo Chair
- Ladder Barrel
You will learn how to progress these exercises in order to provide a more challenging work-out but you will also be taught adaptations for remedial clients and special populations.
You will become familiar with each exercise through demonstration, observation and practice.
Students will also be given a PPRC basic Anatomy booklet and PPRC Pathologies and Conditions booklet to study alongside the lectures which will cover:
- The Spine

- The Knee
- The Shoulder

During the course students will undertake four written PPRC anatomy examinations:
- The skeleton
- Muscles & their functions
- Joints and /soft tissue
- Conditions and special populations
- Active IQ Anatomy and Physiology examination
- Active IQ Principles of Exercise examination
- Active IQ assessment,
- Alan Herdman assessment
Successful students will be awarded a Physiotherapy & Pilates Rehabilitation Centre Teacher Training Certificate for equipment and matwork in affiliation with Alan Herdman Pilates, and an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork.

The cost of the course to include the Active IQ Matwork diploma, affiliation with Alan Herdman and use of both the Clevedon and Taunton studios.
A registration fee will be required to secure your place. This will be deducted from the total fee.
Registration fee (Terms and Conditions apply): £500.00
Upfront payment: £4500 (less £500 registration fee) £4000
Payment by instalments: £4750 (less £500 registration fee) £4250
This comprises of;
Down payment at start of course: £1250
Plus 6 monthly payments of: £500
Terms and Conditions
Registration fees are payable in advance to secure a place on the course and only included in total price where stated.
We will not accept any refund requests within 30 days of the start of the course. Prior to that we will refund 50% of any fee paid.
The fee paid is non-refundable once a course has begun and if paying in instalments fees must be paid by standing order on the agreed dates.
Please note that early retirement from any course or where a student fails to attend any course all previously paid fees are non-refundable.
If unforeseen circumstances cause the trainee to withdraw from training at any time PPRC will endeavour to keep the trainee’s course on hold for up to a period of two years although this will be assessed individually and may incur extra charges.
In the unlikely event that PPRC asks a student to leave the course a consultation process will be initiated. This will follow the rules of the PPRC appeals and complaints policy procedures.
Fees paid up to that point are non-refundable.
